LyricNotes, Vol. I

Well, here is the first post on this site, and since I don’t know what to say, and no one is going to read this, I will probably make it short. First, I’ll give a little background. I was born a poor black child…that may be too much background...

How bout starting with me and Josh. Josh and I grew up together in the same church, his dad being the pastor, and mine being a guy that attended regularly, much to my childhood chagrin. After school we pretty much lost track of each other until I heard he was working in a restaurant downtown. So one day I stopped in and told him about this idea for a movie theater/café, and he was all “huh.” And I was all “yeah.” and he was all “cool” and I was all “Isn’t it though?” And I guess the rest is history. We’ve been working on it for about 6 months now and the opening date is on a very hazy horizon.

In case any of you theoretical readers are wondering, starting a movie theater/café is a tricky business. I won’t go into to much detail right now, or probably ever, because I’ve had to repeat myself too many times. If you would like to know how to open a theater go to The Moxie’s website. Otherwise this is mostly a blog about what the status of our theater is, and the status of my mood, and the status of the Josh’s love life, and a status of exactly how adorable my kids are.

Right now we are in limbo. We are waiting for a loan and waiting for a bid from the contractor and waiting for the lease to go through. Waiting sucks, but I suppose it’s something we will have to deal with.
